Uh oh! It has been a long while since I last updated this blog. I guess I need to get with it but these long work hours have kept me quite busy. Yesterday I worked 12 hours. That's a lot and I'm not sure how people work those hours every day. I would simply sleep away my entire days off. Actually, I do that already haha. Anyways...
This past week has been an adventure! The sun has been hiding and the rain clouds have made quite the appearance here in Juneau. In a normal job this really is not a problem. In my job, this can be horrible. Imagine, if you will, standing on a tarmac while four helicopters land in front of you, the incredible gusts of chilly wind from each angle, not to mention the stinging rain that comes flying at your face. Luckily, Era has nice rain suits for us....unfortunately they are all huge on us ladies making us look pregnant and like we have no hands. Honestly, it really isn't too bad. It makes the day go by pretty fast and the cold goes away after a few cups of hot chocolate.
Today, we canceled many flights due to low clouds and rain. This makes for a lot of happy passengers, let me tell you (note the sarcasm). This is the first job that I have been yelled at by multiple people...people I don't even know....people who think they can do my job better then me....They have no clue. I love my job but today was a stressful one. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. They are calling for SUN. Yay. Sun=Happy passengers. Happy Passengers=Happy Melissa.
